Two industry suppliers are asking agents to contribute to a survey assessing how the lettings sector has performed in 2020.
Government-authorised deposit scheme mydeposits has joined forces with deposit alternative service Ome – both owned by Hamilton Fraser – to assess how agents fared, along with landlords and tenants, through the Coronavirus challenges of the past year.
It runs from until December and respondents will have a chance to win one of six £50 Amazon vouchers.
Agents will be met with questions about accommodating tenants’ needs, their relationships with tenants’ and communication methods, while landlords completing the survey will be asked questions pertaining to becoming a landlord, industry changes, and challenges they faced in the private rental sector.
Meanwhile, all will have a mixture of multiple choice, grading and open-ended questions tackling topics such as housing aspirations, reasons for renting, rental experience, rental costs, and effects of Covid-19.
The survey also asks more widespread questions such as whether each demographic feels supported by the government, and whether the rental market is fit for purpose.
The survey concludes with a look at attitudes towards deposit replacement schemes and whether rental market technology is in-line with the tech we use in everyday life.
