Selfless agency staff become heroic local helpers

Like many agencies, the Milton Keynes company Cauldwell Property Services has most of its staff working from home and handling sellers’ and buyers’ queries - but it’s going a lot further with its offer of help to the local community.

This message put on social media by the agency’s owners Wayne, James and Jason, and kindly sent in our direction by OnTheMarket, explains exactly what it’s doing.

Dear MK Community: For the last 16 years we have built an amazing local business with the help of the community; this help has enabled us to employ over 30 local people/families and we have been extremely sensible with that generosity.

As business owners we have never bled the finances dry, we have indeed saved stringently just in case of a situation just like this one in order to protect out asset which is our staff and clients.

With this business plan it has enabled us to employ a strategy to protect our business model and staff partners alike - and we want to extend this philosophy to the good people of MK who keep everything going whilst we transition through this tough period.

As our accompanied viewers - Peter and Cassie - will be quieter than usual we think we can offer our services to the most vulnerable and key workers in our wonderful town.

We ask that if you need a prescription picking up, shopping collected (click and collect only as we do not want to take you cards/cash) or need us to aid a key workers with the school run or pick up (Cassie has a DBS certificate) then please let us know.

We wish at this time to support that town which catapulted us to the number one status we have today considering the corporate choices on offer, and we will forever be grateful to all our customers past and present.

If you need any assistance and are a key worker or indeed vulnerable, then we would love to give back to you at this difficult and strange time for us all.

Our staff are on full pay and we will not accept any gratuity you may offer - we are happy to service our town at this time.

Thank you and stay safe - Wayne, James and Jason.

  • Today is April 1, traditionally April Fools Day - cracking a joke in the current circumstances doesn’t seem quite right, but we’re using the opportunity to highlight the great work being done by agencies in the wider community to help us all get through the Coronavirus crisis.
