An agency and its landlord clients have come to the aid of nurses who are in the frontline of the fight against Coronavirus.

Two generous landlords have provided free accommodation for nurses working at Hillingdon Hospital.

The kind pair were contacted by the Gibbs Gillespie agency which has 10 offices across the region and is helping to find accommodation for key health workers.

Charlotte Stead from the agency’s Uxbridge office says: “We were contacted by Rosie Smith-Scothern, who is a Ward Sister on the Intensive Care Unit in Hillingdon Hospital.

“Rosie lives in Dunstable, and her partner is on the risk register so she couldn’t live at home but wanted to continue to work and save lives.

“I rang our database of landlords and one, Maggie Rees, offered a property near to the hospital for free. It is a wonderful gesture, and Rosie is hugely appreciative.”

Charlotte was the contact for another generous landlord, Sadhana Patel, who has a property opposite the hospital.

Charlotte continues: “When the property became empty Mrs Patel said she would consider renting it out for free to any nurses in need. I have a friend who works in the NHS, and she got in contact with Mrs Patel, and that’s when she was introduced to Mark Ceeber. Mark is a frontline ICU nurse and has to isolate away from his family due to being in regular contact with COVID 19 patients.”

Charlotte arranged the move in, all commissions were waived as they were for Rosie, and she created a welcome pack of essentials for Mark to enjoy when he began the tenancy.

Agency co-founder Paul Gillespie adds: “It’s amazing to see the kindness of some landlords and we’re proud of Charlotte as she has gone more than the extra mile to find homes for our NHS heroes. It’s incredible what we can achieve when we all pull together.”
