Will Build To Rent emerge stronger or weaker after the virus crisis?

A pro-Build To Rent online platform is hosting a webinar to discuss whether the sector will emerge from the Coronavirus crisis stronger than before.

Love To Rent - a portal specifically developed to showcase BTR developments and homes, and promote what it calls “the benefits and lifestyle that these quality homes can offer” - is hosting the portal next Wednesday at 10am.

Figures reported yesterday on Letting Agent Today show that there’s been a 12 per cent increase in the number of BTR homes across the UK that have been completed, are under construction or at the planning stage; however, London has seen a decrease in the number of homes in planning, falling by 10 per cent since the end of Q1 2019.

The webinar will address what it calls “the seismic impact Covid-19 has had on the property sector as a whole and look at its effects on developments markets.” 

It will also examine how society might change after lockdown, how the BTR market might emerge and what the industry can do to put itself in a position of strength post Covid-19.

The one hour event will see contributions from a range of BTR developers and will also discuss how “the interaction, support and community engagement throughout lockdown has created enormous brand loyalty” according to a statement from Love To Rent.
