Rental app by-passes agents but charges landlords £799

A new app called Rentd by-passes lettings agents but charges landlords £799 for a full listing.

Landlords pay the one-off £799 fixed fee: once a tenant selects their property there is real-time negotiation via the app. Landlords have the opportunity to accept, decline or counter-offer a tenant’s bid.

For tenants, there are no fees.

The app’s technology allows renters to virtually walk-through a property. If required, all in-person viewings are managed by Rentd, and all credit checks, referencing, digital signing of rental agreements, and a full inventory along with an inventory clerk check-in are provided.

The app also has deposit alternative Reposit built-in, meaning tenants can pay efficiently ‘in app’ and pay one week’s non-refundable deposit.

Publicity for the app claims demand has grown “exponentially” in the three months since launching - but it gives no figures.
