Online agency’s refund for customers after portals problem

Online lettings agency Upad is offering to refund users whose rental listings did not appear on Zoopla and PrimeLocation as they should have.

The refund follows a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority by a consumer who disputed the Upad ad which claimed: ‘Start with property advertising on Rightmove, Zoopla and PrimeLocation’.

The complainant, who used Upad to list their property, challenged whether the ad was misleading after his property was only listed on Rightmove.

A spokesperson for the ASA told Letting Agent Today: “We contacted Upad, who said that a technical issue had been preventing properties from being listed on Zoopla and Prime Location, but that developers quickly fixed the automated system. Upad also offered users affected by this issue a full refund.”

The matter was classified by the ASA as informally resolved and not requiring any further investigation.
