Online agency to involve landlords and tenants in climate gesture

Todays other news

Online lettings agency Accommodation has pledged to plant a new tree for every property let – it has already planting 1,190 trees to offset its workforce’s carbon footprint.

The agency will also be asking its landlords, tenants and team members to vote on new projects each month so the business can make further positive impacts on climate change.

This month the agency has chosen to support a project to produce energy from waste rice husk in India and a second to help with cleaner cookstoves in Zambia and Ghana.

Aaron Short, founder and chief executive, says: “We take climate change seriously and believe every business should play their part. Making our workforce climate positive is just the start and we will continue to make a positive impact, which is something we are extremely proud to be doing.

“We are delighted to be able to invite our customers to get involved by allowing them to vote on projects for us to support and alongside this, we will also be planting a tree every time we let a new property.

“For the Accommodation team, this is only the start of making a positive change as we want to leave the world in a better place than we came into it.”
