Tesco and Morrison supermarket chains are now selling Airbnb gift cards, which are also available from the short lets platform directly in digital form.

The cards can also be used against Airbnb Experiences – events that can be booked at destinations where tenants are planning to stay.

The cards are aimed at the Christmas shopper and a statement from the short lets firm says: “Christmas gifting can be notoriously stressful and last-minute, so we’re excited to be launching the Airbnb Gift Card in the UK – a gift for the holidays that will capture the heart of any globetrotter.

“The booking possibilities really are endless and with the vast variety of stays and experiences on Airbnb, you’ve got the world at your fingertips. We hope that these Gift Cards can make the upcoming festivities extra special this year and get everyone excited for what lies ahead in 2022.”

The physical and online cards are being marketed in eight countries – the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Italy and France.
