Updated Covid guidance for letting and estate agents

Propertymark has produced new guidance for letting agents in the wake of the latest step on the roadmap out of Covid restrictions.

It says: “Each phase of restriction easing brings excitement as life starts to feel more normal, but guidance from the UK Government will mean the changes for agents will be minimal, with the largest change coming from the rule of six.

“Across England, the number of people who can attend a viewing can increase but only providing they are from two households (plus the person showing the property).

“If they are not from two households, the maximum people allowed to a viewing is six.

“Agents are still required to maintain social distancing with all clients as well as one another in offices and will still need to wear masks in client homes. Meaning that well-earned brew to secure your latest instruction is still off the cards.

“Working with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Propertymark recommends that virtual viewings should still be encouraged, and physical viewings should still be restricted to essential people only.”

Propertymark chief executive Nathan Emerson says: “Despite the current pressures, these changes should in no way be seen as permission for mass attendance to properties or open house style viewings. As we follow the governments roadmap, we have a responsibility to ourselves, our staff, and our clients, and need to follow the guidance being given.”

Propertymark says agents and viewers still need to wear a mask indoors and social distancing remains in place between agents and consumers.

Would I be out of line to say these guidance notes are 100% unrealistic in expectation?

We send video's of properties to potential tenants, if they like it, we arrange a viewing for them

Cuts out time wasters and we are still being "Safe"

If someone wants to view a property, we are not going to say no!!

I 2nd Croydon Agent. We use 360 Matterports and it does cut out time wasters.

Think its a great idea anyone interested let them have a small video and if they like it then take it further it saves on the wasters
