The UK Apartment Association – set up six years ago as a form of trade body for Build To Rent operators in the UK – has now joined the UK Short Term Accommodation Association, which represents the Airbnb-style short lets sector.

A statement says: “The combination of the two industry bodies’ memberships will dramatically increase the current size of the TrustedStays inventory and open up more options for corporates and government to book accommodation that has the Quality in Tourism accreditation.”

Trusted Stays was a kitemark scheme originally set up to guarantee quality housing for key workers having to relocate temporarily during the pandemic.

Dave Butler, the chief executive of the UKAA, says: “Build To Rent operators and investors have been seeking to access the corporate lets market for a long time. TrustedStays provides an effective tech-driven platform that opens up this market globally. I am hugely excited by the opportunity that this brings to UKAA members.”
