New revenue stream to agents during void periods – claim

Todays other news

A PropTech referencing service is claiming to offer agents a new revenue stream during void periods.

Vouch says it has created a new online service with utility company ScottishPower.

The so-called ‘Vouch Voids’ dashboard allows agents to automatically switch providers to ScottishPower upon change of occupancy, earning a fee.

During the void period, the property will be set up on a no standing charge tariff for up to 45 days – although this is only available during the void to landlords with domestic properties supplied via a credit meter.

Vouch says its dashboard is also designed to save agents time and introduce new efficiencies into the change of tenancy process, such as sending automated meter readings to utility companies to ensure accurate billing.

The service will also be able to notify council tax and water authorities of any changes in occupancy.

Jaime Tillyer, Vouch director, says: “Following numerous conversations with our clients, it became apparent that the Voids offerings available through our partners were just not in line with how the agents or the Vouch platform works.

“Agents reported frustrations around always speaking to a middleman, so the solution as we saw it was to do what we do best and build a Voids platform from the agents’ point of view.”
