Omicron worries make tenants stay put - demand has slumped

The government has issued revised guidelines for the possession process in the private and social rented sectors in the light of new advice over self-isolation and Covid.

The latest guidance, which applies to England and Wales, follows on from the removal of the legal obligation to self-isolate due to Covid-19.

You will no longer be legally required to self-isolate if you test positive for the virus – instead, people who test positive are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

You will no longer be legally required to self-isolate if you are an unvaccinated close contact, and will no longer be advised to test for seven days if you are a fully vaccinated close contact.

The new government guidance is here.
