A prominent agent has been appointed to head the ongoing expansion of a well known firm’s lettings team.

James Gwynne has joined Nicol & Co after more than 10 years working in the sector, including the last three years managing the sales and lettings teams at Cobb Amos in Herefordshire.

Before that, he spent four years working his way up the ranks at Andrews Estate Agents in Cheltenham, and he previously worked for the former Town & Country Property Services.

Gwynne will be working from Nicol & Co’s Droitwich headquarters and will manage a lettings team of four based there and in the company’s Worcester and Malvern offices.

Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, says: “We’re delighted to welcome James to the company and are confident that his experience will make a major contribution to our expanding lettings team. There is a range of new legislation and regulations coming through on the relationship between landlords and tenants, and James’ detailed knowledge of these changes will keep up one step ahead of the market.

“His appointment also reflects our ongoing confidence in the property market despite recent economic turbulence.”

Gwynne himself comments: “I’ve got a bit of a history with Nicol & Co as they have always been around and I was trained by a former staff member when I was first working in the property sector. I then met the team a few years ago when applying for a job as a sales negotiator, and while I was impressed I was told that my experience meant I would be better to apply again when they had a more senior and lettings related position.

“This left an imprint on my mind as a company I’d like to work for, and so when this opportunity came up I applied and am thrilled to have been appointed. Nicol & Co understands the market and I like their ethos and how the company markets itself as a brand, wanting to be memorable for the right reasons.”
