Lettings agency ‘disappears’ leaving landlords and suppliers in the lurch

A lettings firm specialising in holiday properties is reported to have disappeared with all items taken from its office and calls and emails being left unreturned.

Blue Sky Holiday Homes was based in the Cornish property hotspot of St Ives but the Cornwall Live news website reports that its owned - Paul James - “went quiet after asking for sums of money from his clients up front for repairs, deposits and other services.”

Since that time dozens of landlords and suppliers have reported being unable to extract monies owed to them. The scandal has reached local BBC TV News as well as newspapers and online news services.

Letting Agent Today’s telephone calls to the company go unanswered while its website has now been taken down and a “closed permanently” message appears on Google when the company is searched for.

Its Facebook page remains in place but has not been updated since January 26.

Previously the company described itself this way: “Blue Sky Holiday Homes offer beautiful holiday homes located in proximity to the fabulous seaside and tranquil beaches throughout Cornwall. We hand pick all of our accommodations and offer a complimentary concierge service to all of our guests.

“We bring you the very best selection of holiday homes in Cornwall to suit all needs. From quaint traditional cottages, designer luxury apartments, spacious townhouses or stunning eco-style beach houses, our portfolio spans the entire range.”
