PropTech claim to identify all private rental licensing schemes

A PropTech supplier which helps agents and landlords identify private rental sector licensing issues has announced a new partnership.

Geospatial technology firm Kamma is linking with Complylex - meaning that Complylex users will have access to Kamma’s instant property licensing checks.

The growth of discretionary licensing schemes across the 408 local authorities in the UK has created a web of rules and regulations that landlords and agents have to follow, with unlicensed properties leading to fines and Rent Repayment Orders.

Complying with licensing regulations is an ongoing burden that agents must deal with, claims Kamma.

In addition to receiving email alerts on new and legislation related to lettings, sales, COVID-19 and insurance, users in England and Wales will now also be able to receive live updates about any changes to licensing regulations affecting their portfolio.

Kamma chief executive Orla Shields says: “With the administrative burden of regulatory compliance completely removed thanks to our partnership, this partnership can help any letting and sales agencies, and other property professionals, to stand out from the competition.”

Veteran former agent Michael Stoop, chief executive at Complylex, adds :”For every lettings and sales agent operating in England and Wales, to have this app, not only as a valuable learning tool, but also as a constant reference point for all things sales and lettings together with the ability to now access all their property licensing and compliance in one place, is fantastic for the industry.”

Kamma describes itself as a world-leading geospatial technology company based in the UK. It works with organisations throughout the buy to let sector.
