Local business marketing initiative for new rental scheme

A large Build To Rent scheme of almost 300 flats is launching a scheme allowing local businesses to market themselves to tenants free of charge.

Some 600 or so residents are expected to live in the 294 one, two and three bedroom flats in The Almere scheme in Milton Keynes - residents move in later this month.

Now the operators have set up a so-called Neighbourhood Hero initiative to showcase predominantly independent businesses including a coffee shop, hair salon, hotel and fitness centre.

The businesses will be featured in The Almere website and social media posts, and will be allowed to send offers and deals to residents “without incurring any marketing costs” according to a statement.

The firms will also feature in move-in packs and will work with the scheme on events.

Community manager Holly Birmingham explains, “We want to support the brilliant local businesses around us, create lasting relationships and of course, show our residents the best our town has to offer.”
