Leaders Romans Group is unveiling what it claims is a new ‘sustainable’ branch office for its Portico brand in Fulham, London.

The office is powered by renewable green energy, including a 20 per cent reduction on previous energy usage by the use of timed lighting, air conditioning and heating. Low flow taps save up to 50 per cent of water consumption.

Fixtures and fittings have been chosen to be environmentally friendly, office chairs are made from 100 per cent recycled fabric and the carpet is made from 65 per cent recycled content.

Leaders Romans Group chief operating officer David Wilson says: “Tenants and homeowners expect more sustainability and responsibility from the property services they use and interact with and as an integral part of the local community in each of our nationwide branch network we want to play our part in delivering the UK’s wider carbon reduction goals.

“Now is the time for the property sector to embrace the next big challenge and step up to help turn the industry green.”

LRG has made given substantial publicity to its policy of planting a tree for every new property sold or let by the group. It recently celebrated the planting of 16,000 trees.

Backed by private equity firm Platinum Equity, LRG has a network of over 240 branches across the country and employs over 2,600 people.
