PropTech: Lettings platform snapped up by fast-growing Goodlord

PropTech firm Goodlord has acquired lettings platform Halo.

It’s Goodlord’s third acquisition in as many years.

Halo, launched in 2020, provides tenants with an app to track their move-in progress and an onboarding operating system for letting agents. Since launch, it has been used by thousands of renters across the UK. 

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will see Goodlord incorporate the Halo tech into its existing offering. 

In 2020 Goodlord acquired referencing software vendor Vouch; in 2021, it acquired the bill-splitting app Acadia.

Goodlord raised a £27m funding round last wto fuel its expansion plans, with strategic acquisitions as a major objective.

Tom Mundy, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Goodlord, adds: “We know how complex the tenant move-in process is and Halo has done a great job in developing technology for this space. We’re looking forward to bringing their technology under our roof and further strengthening our offering for tenants and agents.

“This acquisition is another crucial step on our journey towards creating the nation’s best and most effective end-to-end RentTech solution. There are over 10m rental households in the UK; we’re on track to power every transaction involved in renting a home.”

And Kipras Gajauskas, founder of Halo, comments: “Over the past two years we have turned Halo into an innovative product that’s focused on delivering a great user experience. We’re really pleased that Goodlord has recognised our top-of-the line technology and we look forward to the journey ahead.”
