Former Purplebricks lettings supremo joins rival agency

Todays other news

Spicerhaart has recruited the former head of lettings operations at Purplebricks to a regional role.

Emma Fagan will be the new property management area director for Spicerhaart branches in the Midlands and North West. The firm says her target will be to help the agency get 50,000 occupied units in the next two years.

Mystery surrounds the future of Purplebricks’ lettings division – if it has one. The division was named as one taking the brunt of cuts in the organisation, prior to news that Purplebricks was up for sale. There has been no word on the divison’s future in recent weeks.

Fagan began working part-time in an estate agency when she was at university; she then completed a post-graduate degree in Real Estate and Property Management and has now spent 11 years in the property sector, including running a Reeds Rains branch.

“I wanted to join somewhere which has a high-performance culture and that values continuous improvement and has a family feel. I really like working with like-minded people who are motivated to deliver results” comments Fagan.

Spicerhaart chief executive Paul Smith says: “We have had significant interest from Purplebricks’ staff applying for the jobs we have on offer and have said we will welcome the best. Emma is certainly that.  She is someone who has worked in the industry from the ground up, knows it inside out and will make a real difference to the Midlands and North West.

“Our High Street brands are the present and future of the industry and we want top performers to come and join us.”

Spicerhaart lettings managing director Satwant Basi adds: “It is a real coup to have Emma join us. I am sure she will do a great job helping us to meet our ambitious lettings targets, despite the market conditions.”
