Barbon Insurance Group, which describes itself as the UK’s largest tenant referencing and specialist lettings insurance intermediary, has a new managing director.

Wayne Tonge has over 25 years of experience in customer service and the property insurance sector, having worked for the likes of AXA, Pearl Assurance, Arthur J Gallagher and Ardonagh Group, latterly founding Property Initiatives Underwriting Agency.

Barbon Insurance Group, which includes brands HomeLet and Let Alliance, became part of PIB Group in 2021.

Tonge says: “We’re at the start of a huge journey, with a clear vision and a robust five-year plan … I am eager to work alongside the talented team already in place and help Barbon achieve its ambitious goals. Together, we’ll continue to drive innovation, prioritise customer satisfaction, and ensure our continued success benefits our partner letting agents.”

Barbon chief executive Andy Halstead adds: “Our customers have always been at the heart of everything we do, so adding like-minded people to our team is crucial to our success and growth.”
