Agency doubles in size after snapping up third independent business

Todays other news

A Belvoir franchisee has doubled the size of his business by buying out a local independent agency – his third acquisition in just one year of operations.

Tom Cartwright, owner of Belvoir Exmouth, Stocks Property Management.

Cartwright opened Belvoir Exmouth as a hot-start last October after buying @Home Estate and Lettings Agent in Exmouth and rebranding it to Belvoir.

Within months he completed on the acquisition of a second small local agency, and in March this year he was named the Belvoir Newcomer of the Year at the franchise giant’s annual awards.

It is amazing for Tom to celebrate his first year with Belvoir by completing on this third, large acquisition. The Belvoir Group has a superb acquisition programme to support franchisees and we are always very keen to help ambitious entrepreneurs expand their businesses in this way” says chief executive Dorian Gonsalves.

“Tom is an ex-marine who is proving to be a very committed and impressive business owner, and I wish him every success for the future.”

Cartwright himself adds: “I can’t believe how much we have achieved in just one year. We started out with about 59 properties, and we now have almost 200, and we also won the Best Newcomer Award in March of this year, which ironically, I couldn’t collect as we were too busy completing on the first acquisition

“There are now four of us in the business – myself, my wife Emma, Nick Wright, who is our property coordinator, and Ian Matthews who is ex-RAF and recently joined as a property manager with about 15 years of experience.”
