The president elect of ARLA Propertymark has created a comprehensive list of female experts in different property disciplines.

Angharad Trueman, Group Lettings Director at Andrews, created the list after being told late last year that a property conference panel was male-only “because they couldn’t find any women qualified to speak on the subject.”

Trueman – who says the same excuse is used when podcasts and online events have male-only panels – appealed via LinkedIn for female property experts who were willing to appear on a list.

As a result she has created a comprehensive index of experts from across the agency and consultant board – 23 for lettings, 10 for Build To Rent, three handling HMOs, plus many others covering the estate agency, investment, property law, social media, PropTech, training and surveying disciplines.

“There are 80 brilliant women listed on it and it means we can stop this excuse happening of not knowing which women are qualified to speak on this subject. It’s categorised so easy to find the specialist subject you are looking for. I really hope this will help more women with being able to share their important viewpoints in the future and I’m happy to do an updated list each year” says Trueman.
