Irish agency snaps up UK independent lettings and sales firm

One of the Republic of Ireland’s largest agency chains, Sherry Fitzgerald, has snapped up Belfast independent Simon Brien Residential, known as SBR.

SBR has offices in Belfast, Newtownards and Holywood and will continue to trade under its existing name.

Founder Simon Brien says: “While it will be business as usual across our offices, we now have the chance to collaborate with unified strength, networks, and technology.”

Sherry FitzGerald describes the deal as a “strategic move” and says it intends to extend the SBR branch network through its own offices and franchises.

Steven McKenna, chief executive of Sherry FitzGerald Group, comments: “Together with Simon and his team, we aim to establish the foremost estate agency network in Northern Ireland.”
