Small independent agency falls to Lomond’s acquisition programme

Todays other news

An independent agency and its lettings book have been acquired by private equity-fuelled company Lomond.

The company is not saying how many lettings properties are involved but admits the deal is “modest” and one of the “smaller” acquisitions.

Lomond brand Linley and Simpson will take on all properties under management with Joplings, a Yorkshire independent. It takes Linley and Simpson’s lettings book beyond 15,000.

It’s the 100th acquisition by Lomond or its founding brand since being founded in 2010.

A spokesperson says: “The acquisition of Joplings is one that has been 10 years in the making and holds high strategic importance for the Linley and Simpson brand … we are cementing our position as the leading agent in the local area.”
