Propertymark has renewed its call for agent comments on Material Information. 

The trade body – in collaboration with TDS, The Guild of Property Professionals, Property Redress Scheme, The Property Institute and Kerfuffle – has launched a survey to gather what it calls “real world feedback on current take up and impact” of Material Information.

It says the overall aim is “to create a powerful understanding of current application and identify any areas for future evolution.”

Material Information guidance was first introduced back in May 2022 with Part A, and subsequently followed with Part B and C in November 2023. It sits under the umbrella of Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and aims to include key information which is material to the decision-making process of the average consumer.

Propertymark chief executive Nathan Emerson says: “We have seen an encouraging response to the survey so far, however the more reaction we can gather the more powerful the data will be to potentially help steer progression and development. From the outset, the aim has been to generate real world feedback to help guide future development and implementation. The overall objective is to assist in growing a system so that it keeps pace with demand and delivers maximum benefit to all users.”
