Rental developer Watkin Jones has announced that it’s practically completed on a huge Purpose Built Student Accommodation scheme in Bristol.

The 819-bed Metalworks PBSA scheme is under construction for global investment firm KKR.

Fresh, the Group’s specialist accommodation management business, will operate this scheme.

Metalworks scheme offers a variety of cluster flats from five to 12 beds, designed to provide students with modern living spaces.

The site offers easy access to university campuses and is a short walk from Bedminster train station and the city centre.

Watkin’s Jones says Bristol faces a shortage of PBSA options. A company spokesperson says: “As the city continues to be a top destination for students, Metalworks not only provides much-needed high-quality housing but also strengthens the community by ensuring students have access to safe, modern living spaces.

“It also demonstrates our commitment to supporting Bristol’s growth and ensuring it remains an attractive destination of choice for students to live and study.”

And a Fresh spokesperson adds:This marks our third property in Bristol, where we have successfully operated for a number of years. At Fresh, we are committed to delivering exceptional living experiences for our residents and this development is a perfect example of that commitment.

“With its modern facilities, location and thoughtful design, we are confident it will meet the needs of Bristol’s growing student population by welcoming them to the vibrant community in Bedminster.”
