Lomond seals first London deal with lettings acquisition

Todays other news

Lomond has made its first foray into London after acquiring a major lettings agent in the capital.

The agency acquirer has completed its 61st deal and first in the capital by acquiring London lettings, management and sales agent Chase Evans.

The brand is a highly respected agent with more than 25 years operating within the London market, boasting branches across key territories including Canary Wharf, Elephant and Castle, the City of London, Docklands and Greenwich.

With some 3,500 properties under management, the acquisition of Chase Evans is a sizable one and provides the ideal platform on which Lomond can establish a London presence, with an eye on expanding across London in the future. Given the international angle that Chase Evans brings with it’s overseas landlord base, this acquisition will help enhance this offering elsewhere across the Group in other key cities, Lomond said.

The Chase Evans brand will remain as Lomond’s cornerstone brand within the region and, with Lomond’s head office located in St Mary Axe, the Chase Evans brand will also benefit from the support of the wider Lomond business.

Ed Phillips, chief executive of Lomond, said: “London is globally regarded as one of the strongest property markets there is and whilst we’ve refrained until now, the creation of a Lomond London region has always been part of our strategic expansion plans.

“We’ve been careful not to jump the gun in this respect and have waited until the right opportunity arose and we certainly believe this to be the case with Chase Evans which is an extremely high quality lettings business.

“Not only does our acquisition of Chase Evans give us an immediate foothold into some very important markets, but we also stand to inherit a great deal of knowledge and experience which we believe will be vital as we look to expand further across the capital.”

Director of Chase Evans Adam Holden added:  “We’re very excited about working with the senior team at Lomond, particularly Ed [Phillips], John [Ennis] and Lucy [Jones] given the experience they have within the London market.

“The wider Lomond organisation will also provide us with the support and resources we need to really take the Chase Evans business to the next level and can’t wait to see where the brand can now go from here.”
