Propertymark had announced its next webinar on December 4 to delve into what is next for the Renters’ Rights Bill.

The Bill completed the Committee Stage of the process on November 5 and no date has yet been set for the Report Stage.

The Report Stage gives a chance for the whole House of Commons to discuss the Bill and consider further proposals for changes to the Bill.

All MPs can suggest amendments to the Bill or new clauses they think should be added.

During the Committee Stage, there were few changes from the UK government, and no non-government amendments were accepted by the Minister for Housing and Planning, Matthew Pennycook.

At the December 4 webinar Timothy Douglas, Propertymark’s Head of Policy and Campaigns, will be joined by Jan Hÿtch, who heads up the Propertymark Helplines, and Southern England Regional Executive Valerie Bannister to outline the changes, Propertymark’s ongoing lobbying and what happens next.

Alongside its ongoing webinar support for the sector, Propertymark has also released a “Preparing for the Renters’ Rights Bill” training course which has proven extremely popular. With only a limited number of spaces available for its last session in 2024 held on 11 December, Propertymark encourages you to book now to avoid disappointment and also help ensure members meet their CPD requirements: https://www.propertymark.co.uk/course/preparing-for-the-renters-rights-bill.html

Members also have access to a suite of guidance and information on the Bill to support them through the transition.

The industry body has said that it will continue to adapt and add to its offering for members as the Bill makes its way through the Parliamentary process and the details become clearer.
