Mandatory training and qualifications for agents on the way - government

Propertymark has launched Propertymark Academy, a new training centre designed to provide tailored support for individuals at all stages of their property careers.

Offering specialist courses, the academy aims to equip agents with industry knowledge, professional development opportunities, and qualifications to excel in this sector.

A statement from the trade body says: “Propertymark Academy delivers practical, distance-learning study programmes leading to highly respected Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification. With courses designed to fit around busy schedules, learners can enhance their skills and gain qualifications certificated by Propertymark Qualifications, who are a regulated awarding organisation.”

Among Propertymark Academy’s programmes are:

  • Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) Certificate in Property Agency – an essential qualification for those entering the property industry to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in either residential sales, residential lettings, commercial property sales, or auction businesses;
  • Level 4 Certificate in Property Agency Management – tailored for professionals either currently in, or aspiring to be in, property agency management positions.

The academy also offers flexible short courses, available via classroom-based learning, live virtual sessions, and on-demand e-learning. To provide a more personalised touch, Propertymark Academy can design and deliver bespoke in-house training to meet specific organisational needs.

Propertymark Qualifications says that as a recognised awarding body, it has been setting standards in the property sector since 2002 and remains regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales, and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA). Scottish qualifications are credited with the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Gary Elliott, head of Propertymark Academy, comments: “[It] is committed to delivering high-quality training for property professionals covering key areas such as property agency skills, management, auctioneering, and commercial property practice. With a wide range of delivery styles, we are sure to have a course that meets your needs”
