London’s largest agency has acquired a suburban independent and opened two further branches, as it continues its rivalry with Foxtons.

An announcement from Dexters says the firm has snapped up James Alexander – an agency in Norbury, set up in 1994 – and has opened new offices in Surbiton and Canada Water.

Dexters has over 80 offices across the capital including 12 in prime central London, and has45,000 landlords and some 200,000 tenants.

Chief executive Andy Shepherd says: “Dexters now has more local offices and a greater presence than any other estate agency in London and … further confirms Dexters’ reputation as the capital’s market leader, offering an unrivalled personal service to buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants across the city.”
