A new app claims to be leading a change in the way tenants and buyers view the location of their next home.

The Property Drivebuy is currently being piloted in London and Home Counties and uses geo-technology to encourages users to explore the areas they’d like to move to before making a property commitment.

“Slugging through hundreds of property listings at the end of the day leads to nothing but scrolling fatigue and sore fingers” comments the app firm’s chief information officer James Pennington.

“The technology is out there to offer us a better way: one that gives us access to the property options we want, personalised new-to-market notifications, and an immediate connection to agents holding them without having to fill out hundreds of Contact Forms.”

He claims the recipe to finding the ‘right’ move is understanding your location; knowing not just what you want, but what your budget can actually get you, and ‘feel’.

“We’ve all been there: we find a property that we like the look of online, but when you get outside of it you realise the surrounding area is less-than desirable or the property itself doesn’t have that ‘x-factor’ that the images promised. Similarly, most of us have also been in the position where we are driving through an area, and have commented to ourselves or our significant others “gosh, I wish we could live here”.”

If you like the “feel” of the area, the app will show you all the properties available within it, and the agents servicing it.

Drivebuy founder Steve Foreman says the app will remain free for users, and invites agents and developers to list their properties at what he calls ”no initial cost – although the app’sa future fee structure will have monthly charge of £199 per agency branch.
