Shocking high proportion of homes have poor EPC ratings – new data

EPCs - top agency questions their effectiveness

A new study reveals that over half of UK homes have a D EPC rating or below. 

Rental company UNCLE looked at the 30 most populated cities in the UK and found:

  • The average EPC rating for UK homes is 68;
  • Just 0.4% of homes (99,000) have an EPC rating of A;
  • Milton Keynes ranks as the location where homes perform best, with 60% achieving C or above;
  • Blackpool ranks as the worst location for home energy performance, with 74% scoring D or below.

Milton Keynes has the highest percentage of energy efficient homes – just over 60%  have an EPC rating of C or above.
