Build To Rent tower will be tallest in the county

Developer TSS Property has submitted a planning application for a 30-storey Build To Rent tower in Preston city centre.

If consent is granted, the 96-metre development will stand as the tallest residential building in Lancashire.

There will be 218 flats together with seven Grade A office spaces. Some 163 one-bedroom units, and a further 55 with two bedrooms. The offices will be a mixture of co-working spaces and larger suites for businesses.

The site proposed for the scheme – called Altura – is currently a ground-level car park but the completed development could provide housing for more than 270 people. Off-road parking for residents and workers would be provided on a secure, gated site nearby.

BTR tenants will have a gym, pilates studio, games room and a residents-only cinema, together with a communal lounge, plus a 24-hour concierge service, CCTV and fob-access security doors. The flats will have EPC B ratings.

TSS Property is currently delivering another BTR scheme on a Preston brownfield site.
