Nick Sanderson is to be the new chief financial officer of lettings, sales and property consultancy giant Savills.

The announcement came from Great Portland Estates – where Sanderson is currently chief financial and operating officer – and it says he will remain there temporarily “to support an orderly transition of his responsibilities” while a search goes on for a successor.

“During his 14 years at GPE, Nick has been a highly regarded leader and partner” says chief executive Toby Courtauld.

“He has played a key role in maintaining strong financial discipline across the business while overseeing the delivery of a wide range of operational matters, and more recently the growth of our Fully Managed activities.”

Sanderson will be stepping into the shoes of Savills’ Simon Shaw, who takes over as the agency’s chief executive from January when current CEO Mark Ridley retires.
