Propertymark says letting agents should ‘lead the conversation’ as the Renters Rights Bill becomes law and individual elements are implemented.
In anticipation of these reforms, Propertymark has developed resources which it says will ensure agents are ready to guide landlords and tenants.
The Renters Rights Toolkit breaks down the legislation and includes:
- Four expert guides covering the key changes for agents, including specific advice on the student rental market, ten updates for landlords, and a quick-reference guide for tenants;
- Fact sheets and FAQs that simplify complex legislative language into clear, actionable steps to help agents adapt day-to-day lettings practices.
Propertymark also has an in-depth training course, Renters’ Rights Bill: what you need to know.
Agents can book a space here: www.propertymark.co.uk/course/renters-rights
The toolkit also includes a set of ‘Fear versus Fact’ social media graphics to help agents engage landlords and tenants, dispelling common myths and reinforcing the value of working with a qualified, professional letting agent.
Nathan Emerson, chief executive of Propertymark, says: “This is the biggest overhaul of private renting we’ve seen in decades, and Propertymark’s focus is on ensuring that our members are equipped, confident, and ready. The Renters Rights Toolkit provides everything agents need to prepare their landlords and tenants, manage expectations, and stay compliant in this new era for the private rented sector.”
