Agents want “balance” as rental controls hit legal hitch

Knight Frank has appointed Jack Low-Thomas into a new role – Head of Short Lets – as the high end agency expand into this new market.

He is charged with shaping the strategy and overseeing client relationship management across London and the South East. While short-term rentals have long been part of Knight Frank’s offering, the company says the appointment demonstrates the firm’s commitment to scaling this part of its lettings business.

Low-Thomas brings experience of the prime central London rental market, having worked at Mountgrange Heritage and Chestertons, with a focus on the Kensington, Hyde Park and Marylebone markets. Most recently he was Business Development Manager for short lets where he honed his expertise in the sector.

In his new role, he will work closely with the firm’s network of local offices and its specialist desks – including sports, film and media and corporate relocations – to drive volume, streamline operations and establish Knight Frank as the advisor of choice for clients seeking short-term accommodation in London and the South East.

Low-Thomas himself comments: “I’m thrilled to be joining Knight Frank and to help build on the current success of the business. The company’s high standards and professionalism put us in a prime position to expand further into this market. I was drawn to Knight Frank because of the clear potential I could see and our ability to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients in an ever-changing property landscape.”

And  Gary Hall, Head of Lettings at Knight Frank, adds: “Jack’s appointment signifies the start of the next phase for short lets at Knight Frank, with a clear ambition to expand the team, replicate the success of our long-let business and support our clients looking for short-term accommodation. Jack’s market experience and excellent track record make him the ideal person to take this team to the next level, and we are actively recruiting for negotiators to support this momentum.”
