Independent holiday lettings agency Finest Retreats has acquired a small independent in one of the UK’s busiest holiday lets locations.

It has snapped up Forgotten Corner Holiday Cottages based in Kingsand on Cornwall’s Rame Peninsula.

The acquisition brings an additional 25 properties under Finest Retreats’ management. Forgotten Corner will continue to operate under its own brand name from its Kingsand office with a newly expanded team.

Harry Taylor, former owner of Forgotten Corner, says: “[We] are immensely proud of what we built with Forgotten Corner and the personal relationships we cultivated since we launched in 2018. When we decided it was time to pass the baton, we knew we needed a local, independent operator who shared our owner-first philosophy. Having worked with Richard and the Finest Retreats team for several years, we were confident they were the right fit. Now, seeing how well the integration has gone and how happy our owners are, we know we made the right decision.”

Commenting on the acquisition, Finest Retreats owner Richard Bond adds: “Our first acquisition has been a big step for us. We wanted to make sure we sustained the wonderful management Forgotten Corner’s property owners valued, whilst retaining that independent, local presence. Finest Retreats always puts property owners first so we’ve spent a lot of time getting to know them all. This personal approach is what allows us to deliver our boutique, bespoke full management service. We’re looking forward to building on this success and achieving even more bookings for the coming season.”

The Finest Retreats brand now has an updated website, and says it is now exploring opportunities with other owner-managed businesses across the UK.
