Dwelly swoops for Nottingham agency

A husband and wife team have expanded their business by snapping up a rival agency.

Two years after acquiring Northwood Chelmsford, Zaman and Amina Sheikh have acquired WN Properties.

Zaman Sheikh says: “WN Properties is a reputable business that we had been aware of for some years, and we are delighted that the outgoing directors trusted us with the acquisition.

“The business deals with some very high-end properties in the Shenfield area and the team there are fantastic. We are already enjoying working with them to grow the business.

“I must also pay tribute to the team at Northwood Chelmsford, who have been instrumental in the success of the acquisition. They have many years of experience in property, which has allowed me to focus on business development whilst they continue to provide our clients with outstanding customer service.

“The two businesses are only about 10 miles apart, which makes it very manageable.”

Northwood managing director Phil Gee adds: “This is a fantastic acquisition for Zaman and Amina, as WN Properties is a very well-established and reputable agency with a great lettings and sales portfolio.

“They are retaining the team of six staff, and the business will continue to trade as WN Properties, benefiting significantly from the enhanced processes and technology that Northwood can provide, and the energy and focus that Zaman and Amina bring.

“The Northwood Chelmsford office was a resale in 2023 from a retiring franchisee, and since Zaman and Amina bought it, they have introduced a residential sales service and grown the business significantly.

“They are young, dynamic and have great skill sets, which includes Zaman having a Master’s degree in Real Estate Finance and Investment and being a qualified RICS Surveyor and registered valuer. In 2022 he won the RICS Young Surveyor of the Year award. He also has a degree in law and has worked in asset management.”

Northwood is part of The Property Franchise Group (TPFG), and it says there are more acquisitions lined up for 2026.
