Online agency Yopa has entered what it calls “an exclusive partnership” to help former professional athletes become letting and estate agents.
Working withAthlete Transition Accelerator (ATA)- an organisation that supports elite athletes when they retire – the firm will show how to build an agency business through the Yopa associate model, which relies on transferable skills in discipline, leadership, and performance.
A Yopa spokesperson says: “As firm believers in supporting people with transferable skills, this represents an opportunity to give entrepreneurial individuals leaving the sporting world an exciting new chance to grow something of their own.
“With the backing of our Associate support programme, and the wider community of 200 Yopa Agents nationwide, we’re confident we can help some of the UK’s most disciplined individuals realise their next goals.”
And ATA adds: “Having consulted with hundreds of current and former athletes, we recognise a consistent need – the desire to build viable business opportunities that replace the fear of transition with confidence and genuine excitement.
“Through this partnership, athletes can explore their entrepreneurial ambitions while still performing at the highest level, developing skills that enhance both their sporting and professional journeys.
“It’s been built in dialogue with athletes, for athletes – a practical, real pathway that offers ownership, flexibility, and purpose beyond the game.”
