Agency snaps up another independent’s lettings portfolio

Savills has snapped up an independent lettings agency set up by a former senior figure in the firm.

Mark Tunstall Property was founded 14 years ago by Mark Tunstall, a former head of lettings for Chesterfield who went on to set up the super prime lettings department for Savills before establishing his own company.

As part of the deal Tunstall is also himself returning to Savills, taking the title of ‘co-head of super prime lettings (London)’.

He will be based in the firm’s Sloane Street office and according to a statement he will “be fully integrated with Savills Private Office and the Savills global network.”

Tunstall comments: “‘I am delighted to be returning to Savills as co-head of super prime lettings, London, a team that I originally established back in 2011.

“I have taken great pride in building enduring relationships with clients and tenants alike by offering simple, straightforward advice based on a clear understanding of their needs.

“These are values shared by Savills.”

Another returnee joining Savills as part of the acquisition is Murdi van Hien, who is described as being “instrumental in driving Tunstall’s exponential growth.”

She also started her career with Savills and now returns as director in the super prime lettings team.

Amelia Greene, head of UK lettings at Savills, adds: “The expansion of our super prime lettings department in London speaks to the growth and potential we see in this marketplace and our commitment to this key area of our business.

“As the needs of our customers continue to evolve, whether it be requirements for a pied a terre, relocating for business or education, or trying out a new area before buying, the bespoke, discreet service we provide has never been more important.”
