Prospective tenants can now ask questions of Rightmove – out loud.
The portal has expanded its AI-powered conversational search tool to individual property listings, allowing renters to quiz the service and receive instant responses based on property details and local area information.
The ‘Ask Rightmove’ feature, launched earlier this year, is now undergoing a phased roll out.
The portal claims early indications suggest AI search users show what it calls “stronger purchase intent.”
The feature has been developed in collaboration with Google Cloud using Google Gemini models and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
It combines property information held by Rightmove with geospatial data from Google Maps to generate responses.
Rightmove’s wider AI strategy includes a ChatGPT app, AI Keywords and Style with AI tools, and agent-facing products such as Opportunity Manager and Rightmove Discover.
Tarah Lourens, chief technology and operations officer at Rightmove, comments: “Finding a property is only part of the journey for home-hunters. The next step is understanding whether it fits their unique requirements, and learning more about the surrounding area.
“Our latest innovation enables them to do this in their own words, ensuring they don’t miss key information provided by agents. We’re continuing to build out ‘Ask Rightmove’, experimenting and testing along the way, to ensure it provides the best experience possible for home-movers on our platform.”
