A lettings agent has admitted stealing almost £50,000 from dozens of tenants and landlords.
Victoria Steele, has pleaded guilty to 19 charges of fraud by false representation relating to the Norfolk agency eHomes, formerly known as Prestige Properties Limited.
A story on the Watton and Swaffham Times news website says the probe into Steele began after complaints from landlords who had not been paid and tenants whose deposits were not secured in protection schemes.
Steele has pleaded guilty to charges that she dishonestly defrauded funds for personal gain. She will be sentenced on September 1.
The fraud spanned a period from November 2011 to June 2018 when Steele was the firm’s director and sole shareholder.
The total amount defrauded was £47,685.
The eHomes offices in Swaffham closed in 2018 and the company officially dissolved in April 2019.
