I have never evicted a tenant for no reason. What would be the point in that. My rents haven't been put up for the last 6 year's. Think private landlords need some support rather than this constant criticism.

Simple. The government has no idea about renting property. Come & talk to me. I have rented to Housing benefit claimants for 20 year. Universal credit has been a disaster & has caused more evictions than ever before. You need section 21 now than before.

The government has no idea about renting property. I invited you the government or a representative to spend a couple of weeks with me in the real world to see what it is like.

Councils already have powers but don't use them enough. Don't suppose you have to pay to be on this register or am I just being cynical !!

Certainly lost my vote & my tenants don't seem any happier with them. The only allie they have is that Corbin bloke who won't step down.

Hope that the council pay the price when they come up for reelection. These schemes are a con & sorry Paul but I have already started selling off my portfolio. What with Universal credit , licencing scheme's , all the extra unnecessary regulations. I might as well sell up & put my feet up on a beach.

Councils just make it up as they go along. I have just been told by Barnsley council that 2 people sharing from different families makes the property a HMO when the government clearly states it must be 3 tenants from separate families. Don't suppose that the reason is it would make me liable for 100% of the Council tax where as the tenants only have to pay 10%.

Should say. Form a key part of a interfering governments destruction of the private rental sector. Did they have a bad experience with a landlord while they were at University ! They sertainaly have no idea of some of the tenants we house.

Buy around Barnsley , South Yorkshire & you should get a minimum 7% return .

The government haven't got a clue about the rental market. Anybody with a bit of common sense could have seen this coming. Oh that's why they didn't see it coming !!

Here we go again. No doubt that there will be more hassle for the good landlords instead of sorting out the parasites.

No. I am starting to sell off my portfolio. My rent arrears have gone up significantly since the last rollout of Universal credit in Barnsley. This will be the main driving force for landlords quitting the market especially if there is a drop in employment.

That was a very one sided documentary. The main reason there has been a increase in Section 21 notices is Universal credit. Thank this government for that. I had issued 1 Section 21 notice in the five years before Universal credit but I have been doing 1 every month since the last rollout. They do not all end up in a eviction as I work with my tenants to sort out their rent arrears where possible but the Department of Works & Pension are of no help to tenants or landlords and are not fit for purpose. They should hand the responsibility of rent back to the local Councils where it worked well.

Some common sense at last. Should put them in charge of Universal credit & see if they can sort that sh_ _ out.

Not surprising when you have tenants being moved onto Universal credit. I have had to do another eviction this week due to a tenant who was put on Universal credit & spent the rent. Trying to get it paid directly to landlord is a nightmare ( not straight forward like housing benefit ). This tenant was on direct payment to landlord before he was moved on Universal credit, so why would this not continue ?
