It is good that they fined this rogue landlord such a hefty amount! But in my opinion rogue landlords are not limited to private landlords only. For instance the building which I live in is owned and managed by the council, which has many issues including leaks, dampness, mould, regular outages communal heating and hot water. And yet every year the council increases service charge and rent. This is what I call double standard because when it is a local authority that is failing to meet the standards nobody really cares and they manage to get away with a murder. This is why it really bothers me.
