This is such a joke. You can't get people out for months ! You cannot start proceedings until at least three months after they should have left and then you would be in a queue to get a court date which could easily be 4 - 6 months. All that time the Landlord is without income and has expenses to pay. If the government kept up with their promises to build affordable homes for those that are in the most need, councils were more diligent we would find a resolution to this. Section 21 was brought in to resolve the housing issue originally and to give Landlords peace of mind that if the tenants got into difficulties it did not become a Landlords problem. Yes we are all getting out of renting our properties far better to go and buy a classic car or some art !!!

I am completely speechless. These idiots don't seem to have any understanding of the laws. Firstly there is a Headlease which all Landlords as Leaseholders have to abide by. So its not the Landlords refusing its the Lease. Secondly this government has changed the rules the maximum deposit is now 5 weeks so whereas historically we could hold an extra 3 - 6 weeks damage deposit that has now been changed. I think all these suggestions come out of complete ignorance and someones child or grandchilds refusal so they then use their position to lobby. However, the first way to do that is to understand the rules you have instigated in the first place. Just fed up with it.

Truly if you think that professional respected agents don't know this its a big shock. This article is condescending and completely unhelpful. The reality is that most tenants have, in our experience, behaved in an extremely communicative manner, Landlords have been prompt to state they will be reasonable and wish to work to assist. We wrote to all our tenants prior to the pandemic advising them they could contact us throughout on our mobile phones with any issues. However, there is always one, who despite being offered all sorts of available options, and stated he doesn't want to do anything but pay the full amount, has not paid a penny. They are both working full time and taking advantage of the situation because they know they can. This is costly, stressful and deeply upsetting. If you do take the insurance route please check the small print in relation to late rental periods. The reality is the back log is something none of us can quantify. The government is penalising hardworking landlords and expecting them to take the hit of not paying housing benefit and not having enough properties to house people in..................
