It's so patronising to suggest that agents need to be policed or kept an eye on - what are they, criminals or toddlers or something? Yes, a small minority of agents will charge over the odds or provide a shoddy, sub-standard service, but they are in the MINORITY. Not every agent is involved in illicit activities and dodgy practices, far from it. The industry is becoming far too regulated and bureaucratic. It seems personal responsibility and common sense matter for little these days.

Typical Channel 5 programme. Don't expect any balance or journalistic integrity, it will all be tabloid-esque outrage and sensationalism. One to avoid.

Sometimes the truth isn't the truth. Do you just blindly believe everything you read without questioning it, without taking into account your own experiences? The clue's in the name - A Nation of Renters. I mean, they don't have any vested interests, do they?

You do spout a load of old rubbish, Jon! Your hyperbole knows no bounds, does it?

It's a Catch 22 situation. On the one hand, you want to stop rogue landlords from being able to exploit vulnerable people, but on the other hand you don't want too much red tape and bureaucracy as it will merely put potential landlords off. Balance is needed. But that's easier said than done.
