Q: Who are Blinc Tenant Referencing?

Blinc Tenant Referencing is a fast growing referencing company bringing a fresh, personal approach to the referencing industry.

Q: How long have Blinc Tenant Referencing been trading?

Blinc have been trading as a referencing company for nearly 2 years, and have seen our client base grow considerably in this time.

Q: How did it all start?

We both started our careers working for a leading Estate and Letting Agent, and after successful careers, started an outsourced services company aimed at letting agents, focusing on property inventories. Whilst this business is still successfully running, we saw an opening in the market for a referencing agency that are able to provide a bespoke and personal service. We have seen over the last 2 years talking with letting agents, when asked if they are happy with their current referencing agency, most agents are not, and most have things that they wish were done differently. This is where we come in, by being able to tailor our service to suit the agent, not simply because it suits us better.

With over 20 years of industry experience behind us we understand the market from both sides and with this experience we are able to use a personal approach whilst still carrying out a professional service with comprehensive references. We believe that by choosing Blinc to provide your tenant referencing, you will not only receive quality detailed references, you will get the service and respect that you should receive from any contracted company providing a service to you. With our experience we are able to use common sense in our decision. We all know that everyone is different and there is not always a clear pass and fail with all applicants and we are in a position to make sure our clients don’t lose out on good quality tenants over technicalities which are irrelevant. So many letting agents seem to settle for poor service when it comes to tenant referencing, and this is not something that needs to continue.

Q: What are your three unique selling points?

1.       Our Blinc Rent Protection Warranty which can be taken out with or without an excess. We have developed these products to be adaptable to suit any client of ours with no restrictions over selling them like other comparable insurance products.

2.       Our personal service. We don’t treat our clients as another number regardless of how much or how little business they put through us.

3.       Our ability to use common sense to make sure our clients don’t lose good tenants over irrelevant technicalities where they might fail with other referencing agencies who don’t have the ability to look at the whole application and make an informed decision.

Q: Who do you currently work with?

We currently work with some fantastic companies, Risk Disk (Experian) and Equifax for our credit information, we partner with Stride Insurance Services to provide market leading insurance products, aimed specifically and the property industry and a growing number of letting agents.

Q: How do you overcome your competitors?

We overcome our competitors by going the extra mile, we provide a service that is both professional and comprehensive, whilst still retaining the personal service that seems to be lacking with other providers. With our extensive referencing services, flexible rent protection warranty products and our ability to use common sense with applications we feel that our service is unrivalled in the industry.

Q: How do you create value for your clients (how do you go above the call of duty)?

With us both having started our careers as estate agents we know how frustrating it can be dealing with a referencing company that is not approachable and not able to use common sense.

We create value for our customers by listening to their requirements, and then acting upon them. Our referencing database is bespoke, and if our clients come to us with ideas of how this can be improved, we listen. We believe that we can provide a service that makes our clients feel valued, and when they are approached by other providers, we believe they will say that they are happy with their current company.

We are a firm believer that referencing agents should never hold a client into contract, and we feel our service is such that we can retain our business on merit, therefore we never ask any client to sign a contact with us.

Q: What is your greatest achievement and what made it so special?

Our greatest achievement will always be gaining new business, by offering trials and convincing agents that what we offer is better than our competitors and by retaining that business based only on the service we provide.

Q: What do you feel it takes to be successful in the industry?

Knowing your clients. With all the knowledge we have gained from our careers in estate agency, owning our first property services company to now at Blinc Tenant Referencing we believe we are able to look at the whole scenario with our clients and understand what they want. For us this is paramount to our success as it allows us to provide an excellent service to anyone we work with.

Q: Are you offering any special promotions?

We are always happy to offer free trial periods to any agents, we know that sometimes it seems like a big step to move across from your current provider, but aim to make that process simple and show you what we can offer without any cost to you.
