In a major boost to the scheme, Rightmove has announced that it has added the SAFEagent logo to the list of affiliations that lettings agents are able to display.
Member letting agents will now be able to display the kitemark on Rightmove’s market appraisal and price comparable tool, the Best Price Guide.
Tim Bannister, head of lettings at Rightmove, said: “Rightmove supports efforts to raise and promote professional standards in the property industry. That’s why we are happy to provide a platform for those lettings agents who are registered with the SAFEagent campaign to display the logo on Rightmove.
“This forms part of Rightmove’s ongoing work to help member agents showcase their expertise and industry credentials to tenants and landlords.”
John Midgley, chair of the SAFEagent steering group, said: “We’re delighted to see the New Year get off to a running start with this pledge from Rightmove. Here is a great opportunity for SAFEagents, giving them greater visibility to landlords and tenants.
“We would urge all SAFEagents to remember that if you are on Rightmove – display the SAFEagent logo.”
Over 1,600 letting agents have now signed up to SAFEagent, which is supported by a host of organisations including Which?, Citizens Advice Bureau, Shelter, Crisis, The Property Ombudsman, Consumer Focus, National Union of Students, OFT, GLA and Trading Standards Institute.
Rightmove’s Best Price Guide gives access to over 10 million marketed properties, including currently available and archived properties. Agents use the comparable report on valuations to help ensure a landlord’s property is marketed at the right price and is therefore let more quickly.
The report, accessed through Rightmove’s member area RightmovePlus, shows comparable properties chosen by the agent and can be printed for use in meetings or emailed directly to the landlord. In October alone, over 8,900 lettings agents printed or saved 40,525 Best Price Guide reports on Rightmove.

does anyone actually have it on rightmove to look at?
Despite bringing the subject up many times SAFEagent has still not explained in detail just how it will make SURE that all agents displaying the logo are fully insured all of the time. This is the only thing that is of concern to me.
