Rightmove has promised to carry the SAFEagent logo on its site.
The pledge came at the annual NALS lettings conference last week.
Miles Shipside, commercial director of Rightmove, said: “We welcome the launch of SAFEagent. Self-policing, when it works, is the most powerful form of regulation.
“It’s very competitive out there, so this reflects a drive for higher standards and professionalism to make sure that landlords choose the right letting agent.”
There was overwhelming support for SAFEagent, which took centre stage throughout the conference.
Richard McCarthy, Director Neighbourhoods at CLG, the keynote speaker, commended the efforts made by the industry to improve consumers’ experience of renting and letting and urged agents to get behind SAFEagent.
The conference provided the latest news and developments in the industry plus essential business advice for lettings agents.

For anyone who is interested, I recorded an interview with Miles Shipside at the NALS Conference and he talked about Rightmove's involvement with SafeAgent.
You can view the interview on the NALS Youtube channel, along with other videos from the event.

Thank you to Richie for mentioning my husband, Nick Tadd's talk on using social media in property. There is a video summary here:

I personally got a great deal out of the NALS event and I think self-regulation is a wonderful thing. Landlords and tenants are losing confidence with lettings agents, a small minority of who are going bust and taking LL's rents and tenant's deposits with them. There is a long discussion on the Property Tribes forum about this very topic.

Good luck to the SafeAgent initiative and the more people who get behind it and support it, the better it is for the whole professional proeerty community imho.

CMP is around £300 - £400 per company. One office costs the same as 4 - strange but true.
Only NFoPP and NALs actually have CMP - RICs and Law Society have a fund from which claims are met.
NALS is best value and simplest to secure.
@NAEA old boy - thanks, i'll have a look at their pricing.
@ JS
NAEA Old Boy is correct it is impossible to get cmp unless you are a member of a group scheme. You may think your PI and other insurance are expensive, but cmp is eye wateringly dear.
Just impossible to afford in fact the insurance underwriters wouldn't even think of quoting an individual premium.
Your quickest, cheapest and easiest route to cmp is NALS as you now cannot join ARLA until you have passed the Technical Award
I was at the NALS conference and I have to say it was very good - a couple of the of the speakers were very entertaining as well - Paul Shampolina, Nick Tad and Eric Walker added some humour. The Ombudsman was excellent too.
Rightmove aside - Richard McCarthy's support was significant.
Another coup for the Safe gang - but is Rightmove an endorsement or is it an advert?
Either way - good PR
JS - you will need to be a member of one of the 5 regulators NALS, NAEA, ARLA, RICS - law Society.
NALS is best value - but you will need to have an accountants audit / report of your clients account.
Alll well and good but how the hell do you get CMP insurance? None of the schemes openly advertise how to obtain it, does anyone have any pointers? I'd prefer not to have to be bent over a barrel by ARLA etc if possible, just want the insurance!
I bet SAFE will get a bill........ Rightmove do nothing free.
What I don't understand is how SAFE gets so much exposure and so much support. I just don't get it. Good idea or not - why on earth cant NFoPP do the same and get noticed? I pay them enough!!
