Eric Walker has revealed plans to expand franchise chain Northwood to 100 offices.

The firm, founded in 1995 by Andy Goodson, who remains its chairman, and run by the late Nick Cooper, currently has 80 offices.

Walker has also revealed that Cooper, who died of pancreatic cancer in August, asked him to take over at the helm of Northwood ‘over a beer’.

In today’s wide-ranging interview – although Walker did decline to discuss Northwood’s best known product, its rent guarantees to landlords – he also says why he supports the industry bodies and why he thinks SAFEagent is so important.

The interview, the first Walker has given since becoming managing director of Northwood last month, is in our blog section.
